This mala comes from our NamasteYOGAstore curated collection. It was acquired from a Tibetan Buddhist Monk who has been using it for Japa counting and meditation for nearly 30 years. This antique mala represents the spiritual journey of the Monk.
Antique bodhi beads of this quality are highly sought after.
Made of 108 small, well-used, and very dark bodhi beads. Each bead is rich in detail with a beautiful sheen as well as its own shape and texture. The mala has been personally oiled and restrung a few days back on a multi-colored cord with a red knot.
Mala measures approximately 37 inches around. Beads are about 12mm. The guru bead is about 14mm. Comes with a keepsake bag

The seeds have become naturally dark due to age. As somehow, 11mm -12mm bodhi seeds are extremely rare recently even in Nepal. It was my first time to see with my own eyes these small bodhi seed beads and it is just stunningly beautiful. As a daily mantra practitioner, I have different malas but this one is my favorite one.
The size of these beads can be very satisfying for counting. When not in use, it can be wrapped 3-5 times loosely around most wrists.
