VINTAGE 108 BEADS SPIRITUAL BONE IMPERMANENCE MALA :
Mala features 108 authentic dark buffalo bone beads and a guru bead. It measures approximately 30 inches around. Beads are about 10mm. Guru is 12mm.
This mala is outsourced from Nepal and personally hand-strung by me. It includes naturally stained buffalo bone beads.
MEANING OF THE MALA :
Bone is a traditional material used in malas in both Nepal and Tibet. Bone represents the earth and our connection to it. Bone is also said to signify strength and to amplify prana (life force energy.)This mala is a powerful reminder to be here now and live in the present moment; because nothing is permanent.
My Buddhist practice revolves around impermanence. We live only in the present moment and it is helpful to remember that nothing lasts. Bones are featured prominently in Tibetan symbolism and many of our DharmaShop customers are fond of this reminder that nothing lasts forever.
Intentions for this Mala:
Energy / Vitality/Impermanence
MALA BEADS INFORMATION :
Our Bone Mala is individually handcrafted using high-quality natural materials, so slight variations in bead size, color, markings, and shape are expected and reflect each mala's unique and organic beauty.
All of our mala beads are backed by our 108-day breakage guarantee. Read our Mala Bead Care and Cleaning Guide to learn how to keep your mala looking its best and to avoid premature breakages.
Our prayer beads are purified and blessed before shipping, but we suggest performing an intention-setting ritual before using or wearing them. It is recommended to store your prayer beads in a mala bag or box.
NOTE ON BONE BEADS :
In the Himalayas, it is typical for large animals such as yak or water buffalo to be used for service, food, clothing, and ritual items. Given the limited amount of resources and the religious practices of the people in the region, it is important that none of the animals goes to waste. These amazing bone beads are handcrafted by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.
