MATERIAL OF THE SHAWL: YAK WOOL
The yak has three different coats of wool to sustain it in the severe cold atmosphere of the Himalayas. The down fiber of the yak is considered one of the softest and warmest wools in the world. The artisans create different colored weft yarn to weave exclusive Himalayan shawls from it.

WEAVING OF THE YAK BLANKET:
This shawl is made by using the traditional loom process of weaving. The weaving technique is tilt weaving. In this procedure, the woolen shawls are manually made by winding, drafting, denting, pulling, and adjusting as per the requirement.
