HIMALAYAN " YOGI " CASHMERE ANGORA WOOL MEDITATION SHAWL/WRAP
Our "Buddhist Meditation Shawl" is a traditional hand-loomed shawl handcrafted by traditional artisans of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, North India.
This traditional shawl has been worn for centuries in the mountains on the Indo-Tibetan border and in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Tibet has a large number of Tibetan monks, and most of its people are followers of Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan monks or lamas play a major role in the lives of the Tibetan people, conducting religious ceremonies and taking care of the monasteries. Tibet has the largest number of monks in the world, with almost 1/3 of the population being a monks. Tibetan monks are considered to be the ultimate followers of Tibetan Buddhism. Therefore, the costumes of Tibetan monks are also a significant part of Tibetan culture.
BURGUNDY RED -THE COLOR OF THE SACRED REALM:
In Tibet, red is the color of the sacred realm. While all shades have their place in temples and monasteries, burgundy belongs to the ordained monks or nuns, of whom there are thousands spread over the whole plateau
MATERIAL: ANGORA WOOL
The prayer shawl is hand-made by using ethical luxury Angora Wool in the Himalayan mountains by a small community of Tribal artisans. These traditional shawls have been worn for centuries in the mountains on the Indo-Tibetan border and in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Angora fiber refers to the downy coat produced by the Angora rabbit. Angora wool comes from the fur of the Angora rabbit. The fiber has a very thin, fine diameter and has a halo-like effect of fur around each strand, which creates a shiny quality on any items made with Angora rabbit. Its rich, soft, and lightweight texture makes it an instantly classic accessory that is a must-have for your wardrobe for all weather.
WEAVING:
This shawl is made by using a traditional loom. The Weaving technique is tilt process of weaving. In this procedure, the woolen shawls are manually made by winding, drafting, denting, pulling, and adjusting as per the requirement. The geometric decoration of the border of the shawl is woven as basketweave. The artisans use the color graph as the reference for the design that they will weave manually.
