THE HINDU "OM" MANTRA BONE AND TIBETAN YAK BONE MALA :
This 108-bead mala is handmade in Nepal with water Yak bone beads, "om" painted bone bead spacers and black threads. This mala is outsourced from Nepal and personally hand-strung by me.
MEANING OF THE MALA :
Bone beads allow us to reflect upon the Buddhist teachings of impermanence. They serve as a reminder to live in the present moment; because nothing is permanent, everything is possible.
The word Om is defined by Hindu scripture as being the primordial sound of creation. It is the original vibration of the universe.
What does the Om symbol mean in Hinduism?
OM symbolizes the Universe and the ultimate reality. It is the most important Hindu symbol. It is considered AUM (OM) which represents the three aspects of God: the Brahma (A), the Vishnu (U), and the Shiva (M).
Om beads are said to do a number of things. Some protect their wearer from negative energies or accidents, some attract wealth or wisdom, while others might bring you love and happiness.
Bone is a traditional material used in malas in both Nepal and Tibet. Bone signifies strength and is said to amplify prana (life force energy.)
MEASUREMENT :
Approximate Circumference: 6.5 - 7.25″
Bead Size: 10mm
Suggested Mantras for this Mala:
Om Sri Maha Kalikayai Namah
Om Kali Ma
Intentions for this Mala:
Energy / Vitality
A NOTE ABOUT BONE BEADS:
In the Himalayas, it is typical for large animals such as yak or water buffalo to be used for service, food, clothing, and ritual items. Given the limited amount of resources and the religious practices of the people in the region, none of the animals must go to waste. These amazing bone beads are handcrafted by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.
MALA BEADS INFORMATION :
Our Bone Mala is individually handcrafted using high-quality natural materials. Some slight variations in bead size, color, markings, and shape are expected and reflect each mala's unique and organic beauty.
All of our mala beads are backed by our 108-day breakage guarantee. Read our Mala Bead Care and Cleaning Guide to learn how to keep your mala looking its best and to avoid premature breakages.
Our prayer beads are purified and blessed before shipping but we do suggest performing an intention-setting ritual before using or wearing them. It is recommended to store your prayer beads in a mala bag or box.
