" YOGI " HIMALAYAN YAK WOOL MEDITATION SHAWL/WRAP:
Each NamasteYOGA product tells a saga of rich cultural heritage and the legacy of aboriginal craftwork created with the love and labor of our traditional craftsmen. Our store brings you this hand-woven, cruelty-free Himalayan yak wool shawl that is handmade in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Our "Yogi Meditation Shawl" is a traditional hand-loomed shawl handcrafted by traditional artisans of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, North India. This traditional shawl has been worn for centuries in the mountains of the Indo-Tibetan. Experience superior style and warmth with this all-natural, hand-woven shawl crafted with love by Himalayan artisans. This shawl's rich, soft texture makes it an instantly classic accessory that is a must-have for your winter wardrobe.
MATERIAL OF THE SHAWL: YAK WOOL
The yak has three different coats of wool to sustain it in the severe cold atmosphere of the Himalayas. The down fiber of the yak is considered one of the softest and warmest wool in the world. The artisans create different colored weft yarn to weave exclusive Himalayan shawls from it.
It is made with Yak wool and Himalayan sheep wool obtained from Kargyam village in the Changthang area of Ladakh
WEAVING OF THE HIMALAYAN SHAWL:
This shawl is made by using the traditional pit loom process of weaving. In this procedure, the woolen shawls are manually made by winding, drafting, denting, pulling, and adjusting as per the requirement. The geometric decoration of the shawl border is woven as the basketweave with the help of a slit-tapestry or dovetailing technique.
