Our "Yogi Meditation Shawl" is a traditional hand-loomed shawl handcrafted by traditional artisans of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, North India.
This traditional shawl has been worn for centuries in the mountains on the Indo-Tibetan border and in the foothills of the Himalayas.
MATERIAL OF THE SHAWL:
Angora fiber refers to the downy coat produced by the Angora rabbit. Angora wool comes from the fur of the Angora rabbit. The fiber has a very thin, fine diameter and has a halo-like effect of fur around each strand, which creates a shiny quality on any items made with Angora rabbit.
WEAVING OF THE HIMALAYAN SHAWL:
This shawl is made by using the traditional pit loom process of weaving. In this procedure, the woolen shawls are manually made by winding, drafting, denting, pulling, and adjusting as per the requirement. The geometric decoration of the shawl border is woven as a basketweave with the help of a slit-tapestry or dovetailing technique.
